If you like to run, you may want to check out the Rim Rock Run on Saturday.

What it is is a 26-mile run or, if you prefer, a half marathon that is run on the Colorado National Monument, ending in Fruita.

Along the way you will be running the Monument with a lot of other runners and their teammates, taking in the beauty of the Monument and Western Colorado.

To say it is one scenic run would not do it justice. Ask yourself how many times you have driven the Monument, or even better, ridden along and noticed things you never had seen before. Well if you're running the whole route, you have plenty of time to take in the entire area's beauty.

Once you complete the course, you have a party waiting for you in Fruita. In Fruita's Central Park, where you'll finish, they will have live music. food, merchandise and a beer garden for not only you to enjoy, but all of your supporters.

So get your running shoes and shorts out and get stretched out, then come on out and run the rim. There is no snow in the forecast.
