Country music star Joe Diffie passed away yesterday, March 29, 2020, at the way-too-young age of 61. Do you remember when he played at the Pork & Hops Festival at Lincoln Park in Grand Junction?

It's heartbreaking to say this, but Joe Diffie was scheduled to play again in Grand Junction on July 2, 2020. He was scheduled to play a doubleheader with BlackHawk at Warehouse 25 sixty-five Kitchen + Bar.

I hope you had the chance to catch his show at Lincoln Park on September 14, 2013. Personally, it's hard to believe it was that long ago. The show was great, and to use a Joe Diffie title, the fans had "A Night to Remember." A couple of Western Colorado bands, Lever Action and Led Stetson, had the opportunity to play opening shows.

Playing a show with Joe Diffie was one of the highlights of my musical career. - Steve Harding of the band Lever Action

I am in a shock!! What a great guy...was fun talking to him before he went on stage at Pork and Hops!

God Bless Joe Diffie! - Jerry Schaeffer of the band Led Stetson

Joe Diffie at Grand Junction Pork & Hops 2013

Joe Diffie was a remarkable person and a great entertainer. The crew from the station, along with the members of the opening acts, had the opportunity to hang out with him backstage. He was more than willing to talk with us, answer questions, and offer suggestions and career advice for the other performers.

I sincerely regret we won't get to see him this July. Joe Diffie and BlackHawk together for a show would have been incredible. Thank you. Mr. Diffie, for the decades of incredible music and fantastic live shows.
