The artist formally know as Snoop Dogg has released an anti-gun song in collaboration with his teenage daughter!

Am I the only one that sees the juxtaposition of opposites in this?

And what's with artists changing their names? I guess Snoop went to Jamaica last year, where he became a Rastafarian and changed his name to Snoop Lion which might account for his change of heart regarding guns as well, right?

I mean we are talking about a significant departure from his past two decades of work, which glorified violence and illegal activity and this from a guy who has also faced several gun possession charges, and was put on trial for murder in 1996!

In this new "No Guns Allowed" single, a collaboration with his teenage daughter Cori, Snoop is preaching an anti-gun message and includes clips of President Obama addressing the nation after the Newtown school massacre, and news clippings from other past shootings, as well as a group of children in a fictional scene playing a version of spin the bottle with a gun!

In a statement Snoop said,

It's a powerful song and we hope to send a positive message that hits home with people. We've seen too much bloodshed involving guns and we want to prevent the next incident from happening. That's what it's all about, trying to bring awareness and push love and peace.

Maybe it's just me but I think this shows you what having faith in your life can accomplish.
