Does America Need More Spanking and Less Gun Control?

Lately we have seen chaos in the United States with the Sandy Hook Shooting, The Aurora Theater Shooting, and recently School Bus shooting and Office shootings. So President Obama has taken a rash stance on gun control. Is that what America really needs, gun control, or do the parents need to have more discipline with their children?When I was growing up, any time I did something wrong, it was the belt, switch, spoon or anything my parents could find. A hand works too, but it hurts the parents as much as the children. I wasn't beat by any means, I got disciplined in a way that my parents had been disciplined and their parents had been disciplined.

It seems these days that kids get away with just about anything they want. Not all kids, I know a lot of parents that still spank their children and discipline them, but I've seen other kids in public that do whatever they want and the parents let them get away with it. You don't have to spank your children to discipline them, you can ground them, take away privileges, etc. I've noticed, especially in my family, that grounding never worked. A firm ass whoopin' worked better than any grounding could. But that was my family.

It seems that Dr.'s think every child in America has some sort of ADHD or ADD. I think the problem is they have all these kids doped up on drugs like Adderal and Ritalin and they wonder why there is mental illnesses in American children. They have all been subjected to these drugs and when you take them off of them they don't feel normal anymore.

I don't think the problem with America is Gun Control. I feel it's a combination of not disciplining kids and giving these kids drugs to help with "ADD, ADHD and Mental Health Illnesses." Growing up in Colorado, my friends and I have all been taught gun safety and the responsibility of owning guns. I think teaching your children those things is Gun Control enough.
