Boy, does this sound like a sweet deal.

A police vehicle was sold for just $10 in Montrose County. Sounds too good to be true, but it is.

The vehicle happens to be a surplus patrol truck the Montrose County Sheriff's office sold to the Olathe Police Department for a mere $10. The truck was not needed in Montrose, but it will be put to good use in Olathe.

It's pretty awesome to see local law enforcement agencies working together for the good of the communities and taxpayers they serve. We may think these agencies have unlimited financial resources for the vehicles and equipment they need, but that just isn't the case. Just think of the thousands of dollars the Olathe Police Department was able to save through this goodwill gesture by the Montrose County Sheriff's Office. The money they saved most assuredly will be spent on other critical needs for the department.

I noticed one comical comment from Daniel on the MCSO Facebook. Daniel said he would have given them $20 for it. Nice try, Daniel, but this one is for the town of Olathe and hopefully, this truck will be serving the community for years to come.

Kudos to the Montrose County Sheriff's Office for this kind gesture and a job well done.
