Places in Grand Junction Where You Can Find Glasses for Eclipse
UPDATE: THE MAIN BRANCH OF THE MESA COUNTY LIBRARY RAN OUT OF GLASSES EARLY THURSDAY MORNING.
A very rare solar eclipse can be seen from Western Colorado on August 21, and it is very important you don't scorch your retina. Where in Grand Junction can you find those cool glasses made just for looking at an eclipse?
If you are of the opinion you can simply wear your regular sunglasses, think again. Even if polarized, sunglasses just don't cut it. According to timeanddate.com, none of these commonly used materials will work:
- sunglasses of any kind
- color film
- medical X-ray film
- smoked glass
- floppy disks
Special viewing glasses are a must. Besides, when was the last time you saw a floppy disk?
We need special eclipse viewing glasses, and we need them now. Where can you find them? There are a few places in Grand Junction making them available, but only in a limited supply and for a short time.
