Find out how you and your pets can be part of Palisade's future be re-enacting part of it's past . . .

I spoke with Sara Martsolf-Brooks from Palisade Parks & Rec last month about an upcoming event that is attempting to recreate this historic photo!

The Palisade Historical Society is hosting a "Pet Parade" during Palisade's "Trick or Treat Street and Halloween Carnival" this year, hoping you, your kids and your pets will help recreate this photo taken back in 1935! In case you're wondering how old that is without having to do the math that's 78 years ago . . . and according to the director of the Historical Society they got the idea from a Palisade resident that was IN the ORIGINAL pet parade & photo.

The picture shows all kinds kids and dogs lined up in front of the buildings on the east side of Main Street & my question is, "How'd they do that? My dogs & kid would NEVER sit in one place long enough to make something like this happen!"

So if you and your pets want to earn some treats and have a chance to prizes, get on down to the Free Trick or Treat Street at 4p then stick around for the Pet Parade at 5:30 in the Plaza! -If they'll stay entertained long enough . . .

Oh! Don't forget, you can check out MORE of the historic Palisade collection at the Palisade History Center from 4 to 6p & enjoy the Halloween Carnival from 6 to 8p in the Palisade Gym that same night!

P.S.

Although I know this event is going to turn out AMAZING, all I can picture are little costumed hot dogs and Spidermen tangled together and running loose through the streets of Palisade . . . at least that's what it would look like if MY misbehaved family tried to participate. So in other words leave the rascals at home and try to bring your best mannered friends, I'm sure it would be appreciated!
