Palisade To Vote On Marijuana

Palisade will have to do some serious thinking at the polls come November. 

On the ballot, this fall, in Palisade, will be the option of whether or not to introduce recreational marijuana to their town. It might be a good way to get Willie Nelson to do a concert there.

Here's what the ballot will look like. Well, at least the five questions that every voter must answer 'Yes' or 'No.'

-Do you want retail marijuana?
-Do you want manufacturing facilities for marijuana?
-Do you want testing facilities for marijuana?
-Do you want cultivation facilities for marijuana?
-Do you think the town should levy a municipal excise tax for retail marijuana sales?

 

KKCO News has some more on this, including the thoughts of a couple residents in Palisade. Looks there are two sides to this issue.

The only town in Mesa County that is currently selling any type of recreational pot is De Beque.

Well, if you live in Grand Junction and this new policy gets voted through, it would take about an hour off of your commute.
