Grand Junction Bowling Lanes was off of Rood Avenue in downtown Grand Junction. See if you remember these old school eight lanes and 'cool summer bowling.'

This old school bowling alley was open in the 1940s and 1950s in downtown Grand Junction at 447 Rood Avenue. According to Historical Photos of Fruita & Western Colorado's Facebook, Grand Junction Bowling Lanes was owned and operated by Herman Lindah.

Bowling wasn't the only to do at the old school bowling alley, there was a pinball machine, and food there too. Just no tilting the pinball machine.

Bowling was a popular thing to do around this time. There were many companies with bowling leagues who competed against each other. Some of the competing teams included Harris Auto Company, Machinist and Fireman & Oilers.

One of the big things Grand Junction Bowling Lanes advertised was air conditioning for "C-O-O-L Summer Bowling." Share your memories of Grand Junction Bowling Lanes in the comments.
