Now is Your Chance to Run for Grand Junction City Council
Have you wanted to have more of a voice for our community? Do you want to know more about how our city is run and how decisions are made? This might be the perfect opportunity for you as right now you have the chance to run for City Council for Grand Junction.
According to KJCT, nomination petitions are available now to get all the information you can click here, or stop by the City Hall building (250 North 5th Street) for the paperwork.
There will be four seats up for election: District A, District D, District E, and one At-large seat. With City Hall being closed currently due to COVID-19 cases, anyone requesting a packet of information will be asked to call (970) 244-1509 and an employee at the City Clerk's Office will bring you a packet to the front desk.
Nomination petitions can begin starting on Tuesday, January 5th, 2021 and are due no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, January 25th, 2021.
There are a few requirements if you want to run for City Council including you must be 18 years of age and be a registered Grand Junction voter. You also must have lived in the city limits for twelve consecutive months prior to the election date.
