The musical "Nine" opens this week at Colorado Mesa University, and it is imperative you make plans to attend. If you need a little convincing, here are nine very compelling reasons why you should be there.

Colorado Mesa University kicks off their 2015-16 season with this Tony Award winning musical written by Maury Yeston. The original production, starring Raul Julia, opened in 1982, running for 729 performances.

  • The cast is excellent, with several standouts whose performances you will love.

  • You may not have another chance to see this play.
  • Jeremy Franklin directs, and anytime he directs, you know it's good.
  • Live theater is awesome, and you'll be glad you set aside an evening to enjoy it.

There you go, nine solid reasons to catch "Nine" at the Robinson Theatre at the Moss Performing Arts Center. The play opens Thursday, September 24, and runs through October 3.

The show does contain some adult themes, such as the fact the lead character has 18 girlfriends, but ultimately is not raunchy by any means. The official rating for the production is PG-13.
