Every year around this time I am normally getting excited as we have the NFL about to kick off their regular season. We are less than two weeks away until the season is set to begin, and things are feeling a little different.

In the past week we have had the Colorado Rockies and Colorado Avalanche both postpone games due to the league, teams, and players wanting to make a stand for racial justice. No one is really sure what is going to happen with the NFL.

Currently, we have 16 days until the Denver Broncos take the field on Sunday Night Football in the first week of the season to take on the Tennessee Titans. The game is set to take place at Empire Field at Mile High beginning at 6:10 p.m. local time. There will not be fans in attendance for this game to help slow any spread of COVID-19.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, we have also found out that multiple players from the Denver Broncos will not be playing this year. Obviously, each player has to do what is right for their own safety.

But due to all of these unusual things going on this year it seems like fewer people are excited about the upcoming season. As a huge sports fan, I will be watching to see how the season progresses. To me, sports are an escape from the daily grind of paying bills and going to work. At this point, I am just hoping that these professional athletes can get through the full season.

What about you, will you be watching football this season?
