Fighting fires just became a little easier for the GJFD in the Orchard Mesa area.

Well, maybe not easier, but response time should be drastically reduced.

According to an article written by Paul Shockley for the Grand Junction Sentinel, The Grand Junction Fire Department Station 4 has a new home.

The new location is at 2884 B 1/2 Road. That is several miles east of the former home of the station. It's pretty impressive at 9,000 square feet on 4 acres, which is almost double the working area of the last one. Hopefully, they won't have a lot of chances to use all of their equipment. For me, to have a home or a business burn down would be devastating.

I have all the respect in the world to the men and women who put their lives on the line to save ours. They deserve the best.
