New faces have appeared in the mythical land of Grand Junction's Audubon Trail while others have gone amiss. The frogs have gone AWOL, the owl has made a jailbreak, and a wooden bear has been sentenced to hard time.

The Audubon portion of Western Colorado's Riverfront Trail has become home to a number of mythical creatures. Magic frogs, gnomes, fairies, wise owls, and now a wooden teddy bear call the place home.

This fun game has been going on for some time. Someone, or perhaps a number of anonymous people have been placing these figurines along the trail.

Recently, there has been a transposition, and perhaps even an abduction, of these characters.

Somehow, the wise owl escaped from the hollowed out tree, and a wooden teddy bear has been sentenced to hard time in his place. The owl hasn't traveled far. He's set up shop on the fallen tree nearby. The writing on the pathway suggests the magical frogs have been stolen.

Whoever took the frogs, bring them back. What was the bear's crime?

If you haven't seen these characters, make your way to the Audubon portion of the trail about midway between the trail head at Albertson's and the ranger station near Connected Lakes. You better hurry, because, at this rate, the characters might not be there much longer.
