It's alarming and downright scary to hear that last night around 2:45 a.m. Mesa County Sheriff deputies had to respond to a report of an adult male attempting to rob the C&F Food Store located at 3199 Mesa Ave at gunpoint.

Luckily no one was injured during this attempted robbery. The clerk told deputies they fought back and chased the would-be robber out of the store.

The suspect was caught on surveillance video and is described as a white male, thin build, wearing an all-black hooded Raiders sweatshirt with a red bandana covering his face. The suspect was seen by witnesses getting into an unknown sedan that was waiting at another business just west of the convenient store.

If you see someone matching the description of the suspect don't try to approach or apprehend him as this suspect is considered armed and dangerous.
