There is one super-happy dog in Montrose.

The Montrose County Sheriff's Office K9 Tigo is fully ready to go fight crime after receiving a bullet and stab protective vest. The vest was made possible by a donation from the charitable organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. The vest was sponsored by a fundraiser hosted by James Crouch of Bixbi Pet.

Tigo began working with the Montrose County Sheriff's Office earlier this year and was credited with saving the life of a woman who was having a mental health episode. Now, Tigo is ready for even tougher assignments.

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. is a non-profit organization located in East Taunton, Massachusetts and provides protective vest and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies.

This is such a great thing. We need to keep all of our law enforcement officers as safe as possible - even the ones with four legs.
