This has to be the best week of the summer in Grand Junction.

In case you had not noticed, the Mesa County Fair is happening July 17-20 and there is a ton of good stuff packed into four days. In fact, there's so much going on there is no way you can take it all in, so let me give you some quick highlights.

First of all, you need to know there is no admission to the fair. It's free, except for the special ticketed events that I will mention in a moment.

Some things you might want to check out throughout the week is a racing duck show, glassblower demo, mountain bike stunt show, the Crazy Mike V Show(comedy and magic), Orchard Mesa Lions Carvers Show, and Special Head, who you may have seen levitating on America's Got Talent. Additionally,  there will be a car and bike show, and, of course, are all of the animal and open class exhibits.

Musical entertainment includes Aaunt Bea and Uncle Durty, local favorite Morgan Crouse, Loose Cannon Band, Patsy Jeff and the BoyToys, ECHO Classic Rock, Steve Jones, Gary Russel Band, El Camino Burnout, and the Oxymorons. Check the daily schedule to find out when these musical guests will be performing.

The events requiring a ticket purchase a ticket including Professional Bull Riding, Wine Tasting, Ned Ledoux Concert, Demolition Derby, and the Catttlewoman's Public BBQ. A person could do something every night if they wanted to.

Something new this year at the fair is Inflataville, which is replacing the typical midway carnival rides. Inflataville is a series of inflatable amusement attractions.

It's definitely going to be on the warm side at the fair, so don't be surprised by it. The good thing, to my knowledge in the history of the Mesa County Fair I don't believe anyone has ever melted in the sun. There are plenty of places to find shade, and plenty of ice-cold beverages to help keep you cool.
