There are so many people addicted to opiates it is easy to become addicted to pain killers. Now there will be more help thanks to more funding. You may know someone who is addicted and they have tried everything to quit. Many people are in jail because of their addiction. Colorado County Jails will now be getting funding for treatment programs while they are in jail and when they get out.

I know several people who are addicted to pain killers. One person I know had to go to jail for an entire year because of it. He did not get treatment in jail made him pretty much go cold turkey. However, when he was released he now goes to outpatient twice a week to help with his addiction.

According to Art Smith the detention's division commander of Mesa County. "Jails across the country and the state are moving toward medical assisted treatment."
