Mesa County Library Names Two New Department Heads

The Mesa County Library today announced two new department heads appointed to posts serving residents of Western Colorado via the Public Library System.

According to Bob Kretschman, Public Information Manager for the Mesa County Library, Manny Miracle has been named the new Head of Literacy Services, and Rachel Hanson has been appointed Head of Information Services.

Manny Miracle will oversee the Mesa County Libraries Literacy Center, providing language learning opportunities, adult literacy services, and U.S. citizenship instruction.

Miracle, born in Bucharest, Romania, holds a bachelor's degree in journalism and mass media from Rutgers University, and a master's in library science from Clarion University.

The new head of Information Services, Rachel Hanson, has been with the Mesa County Library for 15 years. Serving as Head of Information Services, Hanson will oversee the librarian staff. In addition to assisting patrons in finding materials, Information Services organizes many guest appearances at the various library branches.

Hanson holds a bachelor's degree in English literature and a master's in communication with emphasis on public relations and marketing. She is currently working on her master's in library and information science.
