Not all flights but some are canceled today out of the Denver International Airport. If you were planning on flying out today be prepared to reschedule, over  500 flights in or out of Denver International Airport have been canceled for today due to the blizzard that tore through Colorado on Wednesday.

Today's scheduled cancellations followed more than 1,300 flight cancellations at the airport Wednesday. 

Denver International Airport experienced winds of more than 80 mph and according to the National Weather Service Category 1 hurricane.

The wind gusts experienced at Denver International Airport are equivalent to a Category 1 hurricane, according to the National Weather Service’s Boulder office on Twitter
