A severe flash flood ripped through Manitou Springs, Colo. on Friday, August 9 leaving much of the small town in shambles.

A four-foot wall of raging flood waters, mud and debris flowed off the Waldo Canyon burn scar destroyed six houses, left 11 more severely damaged, over 20 buildings with cosmetic damaged, and more than 40 cars towed off of Manitou Springs streets and U.S. 24. The flood also damaged gas, sewer and water lines.

At least 20 businesses are temporarily shutdown due to the flood too.

Three people were reported missing, with two of them being reported as located. There was one death reported in the flood waters.
