Yesterday NASA released the clearest recording of what the Earth sounds like!

According to NASA it's called "chorus," and it's the audio version of the radio signals emitted by the plasma waves in Earth's Van Allen radiation belts.

In layman's terms it's what Earth sounds like! A team of experts built the Electric and Magnetic Field Instrument Suite and Integrated Science receiver that NASA used to recorded the sound.

One expert said, "This is what the radiation belts would sound like to a human being if we had radio antennas for ears."

A report from Talking Points Memo explains that one of the receivers is attached to each of two NASA Radiation Belt Storm Probes, which are unmanned spacecraft that were launched into orbit back in August.
