For the last three years, a Lakewood school has been home to a mama duck laying her eggs and, for the last three years the students waited patiently for the day mama would take her babies out into the wild.

Through school.

Now, I don't know about you, but I have never seen anything quite like this before.

And mama is the perfect mama, too. Watch her as she keeps her ducklings together as they make their way through the school and the students lined up along the wall to encourage and show them the way.

Belmar School of Integrated Arts, changed the route a little this year because the rain kept the students from encouraging mama and her babies outdoors, so they made their way through the dry school, exiting out the other side and heading to their new lives in the wild.
