Forty-thousand people heard it with their own ears direct from the stage at Allen Unique Auto's Rock Jam;  Paul Stanley, front man for the legendary group KISS, proclaiming Grand Junction, Colorado, as the new Rock Capitol of Colorado.

So what does this have to do with us Country folk and Country formatted radio? Well, for starters, how many Country stars consider KISS to be one of their musical influences?  Let's cite the obvious: Garth Brooks. KISS was also one of his earliest grade school musical influences and his shows often reflected this.  Brooks has geared his live performances towards an "arena rock" concert as opposed to a laid back Country show.  Brooks has frequently mentioned his praise for KISS, putting them right up there with his other heroes, George Straight and George Jones.  Garth even recorded tunes for the KISS tribute album, "KISS My A**."  On several occasions, Brooks has performed live with the group.

Do you remember KISS crashing the Academy of Country Music Awards earlier this year.  With all the things KISS could have possibly said, they chose to express their love of Country Music, saying it comes "from the heart."
