Actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt Wants Your Photos of Colorado

Yesterday we shared a post regarding a "project" by television and movie star Joseph Gordon-Levitt. At that time, and even now, it's not entirely clear what he's up to.

Per his post on Facebook, the requirements regarding photo submissions include:

1) It has to have been shot on your phone
2) Has to be interesting to look at 🙂

Easy enough, especially when you live in Colorado.

What's Going On, and Why Should We Participate?

Since yesterday, Joseph Gordon-Levitt has shared a little, as in very little, about what he's up to. He's linked out to a site called hitrecord.org. That site requests:

Post photos of your favorite spots in the area where you live, or where you have traveled to. Show us all the beauty you have captured.

As of today, Thursday, January 27, 2022, that site shows a total of 16,549 photos have been submitted. Those photos aren't limited to Colorado. They come from cities and countries all over the globe.

Here's What Western Colorado Offered

When I pushed our local post to Facebook, you chimed in with tons of photos. These are awesome. You'll recognize several Western Colorado icons.

Looking at the images, it's amazing how far technology has come with the cameras built into our phones. Mine sucks. I live in constant fear I'm going to either lose or run over my cell phone. With that in mind, I purchase the cheapest junk under the sun. You're more responsible than I am, so most of you purchase high-quality phones with amazing cameras. Check out the gallery and you'll see what I mean.

These photos are on their way to Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Who knows what will happen next. In any case, be on the lookout for your images.

KEEP SCROLLING: Robert Grant Photos: Downtown Grand Junction Businesses of Yesterday

If you stop and think about it, several of the business pictured above are still up and running. Most of these photos were taken in the 1950s. Almost 70 years later, many are still going strong. Sure, some have moved to new locations, but others, Quincy's for example, are right where they've always been.

KEEP SCROLLING: Robert Grant Photos: Western Colorado Winters of the Past

Here's a short gallery of Robert Grant photos showcasing Grand Junction and Western Colorado winters. They sure are fun. Then again, sometimes the snow and cold temperatures result in trouble.

KEEP SCROLLING: Robert Grant Photos: Growers and Farmers of Western Colorado

You'll definitely recognize the surroundings. Bob Grant loved capturing Western Colorado icons in the shot. Whenever possible, he'd get Mt. Garfield in the background. If Mt. Garfield weren't available, he'd get the Bookcliffs, Grand Mesa, or even the Colorado National Monument.

KEEP SCROLLING: Robert Grant Photos: Western Colorado Winters of the 1940s and 50s

Enjoy these winter images captured from various sites around Western Colorado. All images are by Robert Grant. The majority of these shots were pulled at random from a drawer of negatives labelled "January 1949." A few others came from a neighboring file cabinet filled with thousands of Bob Grant prints.
