Barry Morphew — the man formerly charged with murdering his wife, missing Colorado woman Suzanne Morphew — has filed a $15 million lawsuit against various investigators involved in the case.

According to CBS Colorado, the lawsuit accuses Chaffee County, the Chaffee County Sheriff's Office, and other agencies of wrongfully charging him with Suzanne's "disappearance and presumed death."

FOX31 reports that Barry's attorneys have also filed complaints against Linda Stanley, District Attorney for the 11th Judicial District, and other prosecutors, alleging unethical practices, security concerns, and other transgressions.

Suzanne Morphew disappeared three years ago on May 10, 2020, after she allegedly went for a bike ride and never returned to her Chaffee County home.

A year later, prosecutors charged her husband Barry with her murder, despite not having located Suzanne's remains. After a series of lengthy preliminary hearings, DA Stanley filed to dismiss the charges against Barry in April of 2022, stating that investigators were close to locating Suzanne's body.

The charges were dismissed without prejudice, meaning Barry could be prosecuted for Suzanne's murder again.

However, KKTV notes that the case is not moving forward, and Suzanne's remains still haven't been found — a point Barry's lawyers have repeatedly emphasized.

Barry has seldom spoken directly about his wife's disappearance, save for a 2022 Good Morning America interview with him and the Morphew daughters, Macy and Mallory, where he said he wanted Suzanne to be found.
