The Telluride Fire Festival is one winter festival that makes a lot of sense -- and it's all about fire.

Inspired by Burning Man, the annual Labor Day festival in Nevada, the third annual Telluride Fire Festival January 20-22 is a celebration of art and fire with fire spinning  performances, and workshops in welding, glass blowing, and fire dancing and spinning.

If you have always secretly aspired to be a fire performer, this is your chance to learn the art. Many workshops are available for a fee, and there are free fire performances every night.

The event features a big Fire Ball Saturday on the mountain, and a big closing dance and fire spinning party Sunday night at Mountain Lodge Telluride. Tickets are available at the door.

For winter enthusiasts looking for a winter festival celebration, The Telluride Fire Festival is probably what you're looking for. Take a look at some highlights from last year's festival.
