How to Roll An Egg Roll
I have perfected the roll so that the goodness you put inside doesn't spill out and the wrapper doesn't tear, complete with step by step pictures!
- Place your wrapper so it's facing you like a diamond and place 1/4 cup of your fill material inside.
- Place lettuce leaf or cheese slice on top of your fill material (this creates a barrier between your goodies and the wrapper so that it doesn't tear)
- Fold top corner over your material
- Roll over once
- Fold Right and Left corners over
- Roll over once more
- Lift and spread a small amount of water on all folded corners to seal the wrapper
- Voilá perfectly wrapped egg rolls that wont loose your food or split open while frying!
I used two pounds of hamburger, a bag of shredded carrots, chopped celery, garlic & onion powder, plus salt & pepper to make Lumpia for my mom's birthday! Two packages of wrappers was enough for 8 of us.
Chop all veggies you're including.
Cook all ingredients in a skillet and load into wrapper then fry in a skillet with about 1/2 cup of heated oil until golden brown.
Enjoy!
