Are you prepared for your child to loose their first tooth? Are they prepared? Here's some tips!

February is National Dental Month and since children's dental health is one of the least covered topics by new moms, but one of the MOST important, all month long we're discussing how to keep your child cavity free!

Loosing your first tooth can be scary, that's why I spoke to our local expert Jillian, a nurse with the Mesa County Health Department to find out how to make this an exciting time for our kids. Take a listen:

How to prepare your child for tooth loss:

  1. ALWAYS talk to your dental professional.
  2. Talk to them about the tooth fairy
  3. Explain to them that the tooth fairy will bring money or gifts
  4. Celebrate National Tooth Fairy Day
  5. Give them a treasure chest/keepsake box to keep their teeth in
  6. Don't contaminate your child's mouth by pulling their teeth

Our sponsor Dr. Cox from Pediatric Dental Specialists which is who takes care of all my sons dental needs and he says:
