Western Colorado has a lot, but are we number one in the U.S?

According to this study and this map from the washingtonpost.com website, there is one place that out smokes us. San Francisco, CA.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, otherwise known as SAMHSA, collects data concerning marijuana use in the United States. The findings are based on information about residents 12 years of age and older. Around 204,000 people were polled.

The Bay area and most of Northern California take the top spot with well over 15.5 percent of its population use marijuana monthly. Western Colorado is not far behind with around 15 per cent.

On the other end of the spectrum, look at our neighbors in Utah and Kansas. Some of the lowest in the entire country and they are right next door! Is that just a coincidence?
