Radio people aren't known for being neat freaks. One of the main reasons some people get into the gig is to avoid shaving and daily showering. That having been said, do you have any guesses why someone would put an 'AAA' battery in our kitchenette sink?

Radio is one of those jobs where you can show up for work wearing a three-day-old shirt and a pair of flip-flops and still be the best-dressed employee in the place. Dress code aside, a battery in the sink is pushing it, even for us.

It should be noted today, February 18, is "National Battery Day." Was this some lame attempt to acknowledge this "national" holiday? Whereas on "May Day" one places a flower basket on a neighbor's doorstep, "National Batter Day" marks the occasion where you place a battery in kitchen fixtures (or so it seems).

Why a "AAA" battery? Good question. Nothing about this weird holiday specifies which size battery you're supposed to use.

Who at KEKB would do this? The only practical use we have for "AAA" batteries would be the mini-radios we use when we're broadcasting live on location. Who around here would choose to broadcast live from the kitchenette located roughly 20 feet from the studio? Did one of the jocks feel it necessary to do a live on-the-scene report detailing the events of the new pot of coffee being brewed?

Step forward, KEKB culprit. Being a slob is one thing; burning down the station is another.
