Here Comes the Bride Name Change

We all know how the story goes. Boy proposes, girl cries yes, wedding bells, and last name changes.

Is this how the story still goes? I, Riley, have recently heard of many women keeping their name, or the couple hyphenating their last names.

27 women gave reasons why they kept their last name. One of the girls said she liked her last name better, but more importantly, that her whole family had girls and she didn't want her family name to end. Another lady admitted she kept her name out of laziness and not wanting to do all the paperwork associated with it. There are also the obvious reasons of the woman being well-known and needing to keep her last name for that purpose.

Reasons vary both ways. Some women want to keep their name, some want to change because they follow tradition or find it honoring to take their husbands name.
