Halloween In Full Swing During Calendar of Events October 25 thru 31

The Trick-or-Treat Street is free to the public, and families are invited to dress in costume, and youth are welcome to climb on all the big trucks parked downtown. The Halloween Carnival will provide a variety of old school games. The carnival is $2 for children ages 4 and older, while parents and kids 3 and under are free.

Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for kids under 12.

This event will provide information on how to get connected with a participating lender, and the chance to speak with a home buyer education provider. Experts will be on hand to answer any questions on purchase, refinance, down payments, and loans.

The Express All Stars is hosting its annual Trail of Terror at 721 South 7TH Street in Grand Junction (across the street from Daily Sentinel). Admission is $12. Hours are 7:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight.

Hallow Screams Haunted House is at a new location this year – 1530 North Avenue in Grand Junction (old Far East building). Admission is $12 for adults, $10 for students/military/seniors over 55, and $8 for kids under 6. Hours are 7:00 to 11:30 p.m.

Studt’s Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze will have its annual Dark Acres Haunted Maze starting at dark until ticket sales stop at 10:00 p.m. Tickets are $10. Studt’s is located at 21 ½ and I ½ Roads in Grand Junction.

Cost is $7 for adults, $6 for seniors and $5 for children. Admission for any night maze is $7.50 for ages older than 4.

Learn the Thriller dance at 7:10 p.m., followed by a dance party and costume contest between 8:00 and 10:00 p.m.

Admission is $7 per person to enter, and the price includes admission to various activities at Moon Farm, including the petting zoo, straw maze, corn maze, and a hayride.

The Colorado West Paint Horse Club will show off their horses in the covered arena of the Mesa County Fairgrounds.

Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. and the 1-mile walk/fun run will begin at 10:00 a.m. (rain or shine). Participants are welcome to walk with or without a dog. Cost is $20, and proceeds will benefit the Roice-Hurst Humane Society.

Everyone is welcome.

Trick-or-treaters are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes and explore unique vehicles.

For those participating in the 5K run, zombies need to be checked in by 3:00 p.m. and runners need to be checked in by 4:00 p.m. Awards will be given at 7:00 p.m.

Children can trick-or-treat to various businesses on Main Street, and other activities are planned as well.

The Knights of Columbus is hosting a steak dinner fundraiser.

Festivities will include live entertainment by Dueling Pianos, a silent auction to benefit The House, trick or treat themed snack and game stations, and a costume contest. Tickets are $25 per person, with a portion of the proceeds going to benefit The House, which supports homeless teens in the Grand Valley.

Area resident John Sabal is providing a Telescope Night. Participants can check out nighttime sights through the eyepiece of a telescope. Anyone planning on attending is encouraged to bring warm clothes and a lawn chair.

The Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra will present The Texas Tenors in concert. The concert will include an evening of classical repertoire and country standards. The Texas Tenors were finalists on Season 4 of the NBC show “America's Got Talent.” Tickets are $10-$35 left section, $10/$30/$35 center section, and $10-$35 right section.

The Grand Valley Pony Club will show off their horses in the covered arena of the Mesa County Fairgrounds.

Tickets are $35, and only a limited amount will be sold.

Western Colorado Chorale will present in concert “A World of Folksongs & Romances”.

Mesa County Libraries will present a Halloween scavenger hunt for “tweens”.

What a better way to celebrate Halloween than to donate blood? The Bloodmobile from St. Mary’s will be at the Mesa County Central Library.

Trick-or-treaters can visit various Downtown Fruita businesses to collect candy.

A tour of Dinosaur Journey, among other activities, is on tap for the event.

Besides trick-or-treating at various mall businesses, other activities are being planned.

Shabby Chic Boutiques is sponsoring a Halloween Spooktacular. Activities include Trick or Treating at 75 businesses (in one location), face painting, a haunted house, and refreshments.

Western Colorado Botanical Gardens is hosting a Halloween Carnival. Activities include assorted carnival games, bump n jumps, a face painter, a balloon bender, candy, and more. The event is free to the public.
