Grand Junction Apparent ‘Ghostly Vandal’ Mastering Art of Levitation
Have you seen this person? Was he hovering eight feet above the ground when you saw him? Mesa County authorities would like to speak to him regarding recent criminal activity.
Granted, the images aren't much to go on. Then again, this isn't exactly something you see every day. This is either a ghost, an astronaut, or someone up to no good. As it turns out, we're looking at option #3. He's wanted for questioning regarding acts of vandalism at two Grand Junction businesses with damages in excess of $5,000.
Had to Do a Double Take
What exactly is going on in this photo? I had to look at it four or five times before figuring it out.
At first, it looked like a frightening specter hovering over a parking lot. Upon further inspection, it's a guy in a white hoodie riding a bike. The camera failed to catch a strong image of the getaway bike, making it appear as though the suspect is hovering above the ground. I know, I'm weird.
He Stays Busy
According to the Mesa County Sheriff's Office Facebook page, on Friday, August 6, officers with the Grand Junction Police Department responded to a call of vandalism at 510 28 3/4 Road. Not long after, MCSO deputies were dispatched to 2977 North Avenue on reports of vandalism and burglary.
Surveillance videos from both locations show the same thing - a male dressed in white throwing rocks at the front door.
Not a Fashion Criminal
As it turns out, one crime this suspect has not committed would be a particular crime against fashion. Labor Day 2021 isn't until September 6, so this guy has a full month to go before his all-white wardrobe should be considered a fashion faux-pas.
The suspect is described as:
- male
- white hoodie
- light gray pants
- white high-top shoes
- black backpack
