Are you searching for fun places to do your trick-or-treating around Grand Junction? You don't have to wait for Halloween. There are several safe kid-friendly events between now and October 31. Check out these fun and for the most part free, trick-or-treating events.

There's no need to wait for Halloween night. Starting as soon as tomorrow (October 26) you'll find several family-friendly events. In each case, fire up the costume, get the candy bag ready, and set a course for these nearby events.
 
In most cases, these events are free. Keep in mind, though, they will eventually run out of candy, so get there early. Many events have additional fun events for the kids.

    Trick or Treat Street Harvest Fest in Palisade

    October 26 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.

    The 8th Annual Trick or Treat Street & Touch a Truck in Downtown Palisade starts at 3 p.m.

    Harvest Fest will follow Trick or Treat Street at Riverbend Park from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.  Harvest Fest will feature a bonfire, vendors, fall games, Pet Parade, Jack o’ Lantern Contest, live DJ and dance floor, and the Mario Kart Half Mile. Admission to Harvest Fest is $5 per car to park.

    Some activities will have an additional fee such as the Pet Parade, charging $3 per dog or $8 per dog team and the Mario Kart Half Mile charging $5 per person.

    All pre-registrations will have the parking fee waived.

    Make your way to Main Street in Grand Junction for trick-or-treating and other activities.

    Truck-N-Treat in Fruita

    October 27 10 a.m. to Noon

    Truck-N-Treat is a safe alternative for your kids to collect candy.  Explore fire trucks, dump trucks, police cars, and many other fun vehicles!

    Wear your Halloween costume and bring a bucket to collect your candy! This event is free for kids!

    Trick-or-Treat Street in Fruita

    October 31 starting at 3 p.m.

    Visit the Fruita downtown and Kokopelli businesses for tons of candy. Participating businesses will pass out candy to children in costume.

    Monster Mash at Dinosaur Journey in Fruita

    October 31 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

    This is a free event. Kids and parents will get to tour the dinosaur exhibits after hours and collect candy on the way out. Put on your costume and come over to the museum for great music, dinosaurs, and of course – Halloween candy!

    Trunk or Treat at First Christian Church

    October 31 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

    Bring the kids and enjoy a safe, fun Halloween event - Trunk or Treat. You’ll find games to play, people dressed in Halloween costumes, and LOTS of candy.

    The window is pretty short on this one, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., or until such time as they run out of candy. Make your way to First Christian Church at 1326 North First Street in Grand Junction.
