Is anything missing from your car? Are you sure? Grand Junction Police identified three juveniles suspected of entering several vehicles and stealing their contents. Perhaps a quick inventory of your vehicle is in order.

The thefts occurred in the wee hours of the night last Sunday, August 21. Most of the vehicles involved were located in the Spyglass Subdivision, neighborhoods around Canyon View Park, and the Applewood subdivision.

If you happened to be parked in these areas during the nighttime hours on Sunday, or even the early morning hours on Monday, you should take a moment to check the contents of your vehicle.

If you're like me, chances are you have no idea as to the contents of your glove compartment or space under your seats. Last weekend, while vacuuming my truck, I made a profound discovery. While cleaning out the back part of the cab, I honestly found a CD with the soundtrack to The Muppets. Seriously, The Muppets. I have no idea how that thing found its way into my truck, and that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Just think, someone could have stolen this and I would have never known it.

Most people are oblivious as to the contents of their glove compartment. In the event something went missing from that area of your vehicle, it's possible you could go for months without knowing it. Take a moment to survey your vehicle and see if anything is amiss.

In the event something is missing, or even if nothing is missing but you think someone may have unlawfully entered your vehicle, you are encouraged to contact the Grand Junction Police Department at 970-242-6706, and reference the case number 16-50150. The GJPD has recovered stolen property, and would like to get it back to the proper owners.
