Grand Junction Receives WARNING from Bank About Phone Scam
First National Bank of the Rockies sent me an email warning of a local phone scam you need to know about! Get the details here.
First rule of fraud prevention:
- NEVER give your debit/credit card number to someone who calls you!
That being said, my bank just sent me a warning of a phone scam that's going on in our area.
What happens is,
- You receive a phone call from an automated dialing system saying they work with First National Bank of the Rockies.
- They indicate that your debit card has been deactivated and instruct you to enter your card number to reactivate it.
According to FNBR,
THIS IS A SCAM; DO NOT RESPOND TO IT.
Have you ever been a victim of fraud? Tell us about it in the comment section below and we could feature you on air!
