Tour a 121 Year Old House in Grand Junction That Won’t Break the Bank
If you're looking for a new home or investment opportunity, please take a quick virtual tour of this Grand Junction home. While it's not the least expensive property on the market at this particular moment, it may be the best deal in town.
As this time, Monday, August 30, 2021, you'll find three properties going for less money. They've been skipped for a variety of reasons. This house, however, has a certain appeal. Add to it the fact it's among the cheapest currently on the market, and suddenly you have an opportunity worth considering.
This House has Seen Grand Junction Change
You'll find it at 829 South Avenue in Grand Junction. Believe it or not, this house has been around for 121 years. It's no spring chicken. While not new, many components are. The house features:
- new wood flooring
- new interior paint
- new carpet in front bedroom
- new concrete walkway
Other Specs
The house measures 912 square feet. It features two bedrooms and one bath. It's lot is interesting, coming in at 6,098 square feet.
Price reduction... and Then Some
This house originally listen on April 20, 2021 at $199,000. To my mind, that seems a bit steep. The price was reduced to $185,500, then $169,000, and now it lists at $149,000.
Why Did I Skip the Top 3?
Realtor.com currently lists three other houses priced lower than this. For the purpose of this post, I am defining "house" as a free standing structure with a foundation. While searching for one of the less expensive houses, I could not confirm its existence. After a search of the neighborhood, the property at the listed address could not be located. Fishy, to say the least.
This is Why I Offer This Information
This is not a commercial. People often comment on these posts, "What are you, a radio station or a realty company?" I am not a realtor, and I have no financial interest in this property. I don't know the owner or the listing agent. To be clear, I most definitely work for a radio station and digital company.
I present these "Least Expensive Property On the Market" posts for a number of reasons:
- I am a fan of affordable housing
- There are enough people posting about Colorado mansions and celebrity estates
- I do own income properties, most comparable to the house featured here
- It is my hope to present people with opportunities for them to consider
Please take a moment to look around this home. Like any other property, it has possibilities. They aren't making any more land, and Grand Junction isn't getting any smaller. When I was in my early 20s you could have bought this house for under $20,000. Look at it now. Regardless if you are searching for a home, or just an investment, it doesn't hurt to look.
