Grand Junction Police Dept Will Not Call You Asking For Donations

The Grand Junction Police Department is warning the public about a potential scam. I have received calls from scam artists asking if I can help the local police department by making a donation. Do not fall for this old trick as they prey on your soft heart.

The Grand Junction Police Department is not affiliated with any organization soliciting donations on their behalf.

Have you ever made a donation and then found out someone was trying to scam you? This has happened to me more than once. I was called by someone claiming to be with publishers clearing house and they told me I won a car. I wanted to believe it but knew it was not true.

Publishers Clearing House just shows up to your house and awards you the check they don't make a phone call telling you, that you have won.

So again don't fall for it and never give anyone your social security number or wire money over the phone.
