Western Colorado favorite Miranda Lambert makes no secret of the fact she enjoys a little drinky-drinky from time to time. Miranda has even gone so far as to share with us her secret recipe for the infamous "RandaRita."

It's springtime, and according to the National Weather Service, the Grand Junction area will be seeing 70-degree temperatures by next Monday, March 29, 2021. It's cocktail time.

How did this become Grand Junction's "Drink of Choice"?

It's not. I just made that up. However, about eight years ago, we learned the secret ingredients needed to make Miranda Lambert's signature drink, and shared it via our webpage. Since then several listeners have shared how much they love it.

Why the connection?

Don't forget, we knew Miranda Lambert back when she was the new kid. Everyone in Western Colorado knew her back when she was playing county fairs at 1 o'clock in the afternoon on a Thursday, just after the sheep-shearing competition, and shortly before the Clog Dancers.

Since then, we've enjoyed watching her career take off. She's a powerhouse now, and sipping her signature drink teleports one back to the good ol' days.

Here's how you make a RandaRita.

All you need is a little time and some modest ingredients, and you can whip up your own RandaRita. You'll need:

  • Raspberry Lemonade Crystal Lite
  • Bacardi
  • A splash of Sprite Zero

To uncover the proper technique, we present Miranda Lambert herself with this video tutorial.

There you have it! Nations have gone to war trying to obtain these ingredients. This is so simple even I can make one.
