Monday October 10 is the official start of the Leaf Pick Up program in Grand Junction.

Residents of the city should have gotten a post card in the mail last week. That card designates which of five of the different areas you live in. All areas have their own rake out dates. You can always check the city's website here for more information or you did not receive a post card.

This program is designed to remove the leaves from the city's streets. If they are not disposed of, they can and will cause flooding as they block storm drains. All the leaves collected will be sent to the Mesa County Organic Materials Composting Factory where they will be turned to compost and recycled.

You can also bring your leaves into the Composting Factory, FREE of charge, anytime of the year during business hours.
