Grand Junction shoppers can breathe at least another momentary sigh of relief as the local Kmart and Sears stores appears to have survived another round of nationwide closures.

According to Business Insider, the company plans to close more than 30 Sears and Kmart stores in the new year, but the Grand Junction locations are not on today's list. In fact, no stores in Colorado are targeted for closure in 2017 at this point.

The list, however, could grow as additional closures are revealed or confirmed.

The stores that are closing are expected to start going out of business sales in January and be completely liquidated at least by mid-April.
