It's the weekend before Thanksgiving, and it may seem a little bit slow since we're in the time prior to the Christmas rush. However, there are events scheduled this weekend that might be of interest.

Central High School's Tawasi Theater presents "The Little Mermaid"

The play is based on the Hans Christian Anderson story and the Disney film “The Little Mermaid.” Admission is $12 for adults, $8 for students and seniors, and $35 for a family pack (5 people).

Colorado Mesa University's Dance Program Presents "Fall for Dance"

The event is expected to feature a variety of dance styles from Modern and Aerial Dance to Hip Hop and Contemporary. “Fall for Dance” will feature CMU faculty and nationally-renowned guest choreographers along with selected student choreographers. Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors, and $6 for students.

The Schumann Singers Perform In Concert

The Schumann Singers will perform their fall concert “Like A Great River, Our Song Flows On and On.” Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door, and $6 for students with ID. Theatre Project Holds Auditions For "A Father's Christmas Carol"

Various roles need to be filled for the production, and everyone ages 13 and over is encouraged to audition. Those who plan to audition will need to fill out an audition packet, which is available for download at www.TheatreProjectGJ.com. “A Father’s Christmas Carol” is a one-act version of the classic Charles Dickens tale and is an adaptation by Lyzz Willms. Performance dates for “A Father’s Christmas Carol” are scheduled for Friday, December 20 and Saturday, December 21.

Waterfowl Field Trip
Corn Lake State Park to Highline State Park in Grand JunctionThe Grand Valley Audubon Society will host the Waterfowl Field Trip. This annual field trip will check most Grand Valley waterways for ducks, geese and other nearby birds. Expect to see eagles and hawks as well. This event is expected to be an excellent field trip for beginners. Anyone wishing to participate is expected to bring lunch and snacks. Admission is $5 per person and youth are free.
