Buy a Donut - Fight Cancer
This is one fight even I could handle. Yes, by purchasing a donut, or better yet, donuts, you can help raise funds for a Grand Junction woman and her fight against cancer. As you know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and one local bakery has stepped up to the challenge.
Grand Junction Colorado Bakery Steps Up To Help
Make your way to Homestyle Bakery at 924 North 7th Street in Grand Junction. Right now (October 18, 2023), when you purchase one of their amazing pink donuts, 50% of the proceeds will go towards an employee battling cancer.
These Donuts Are Amazing
Earlier today I stopped by and purchased several donuts, most for me, and a few for the crew at the studio. They are amazing. Looking at the receipt, these special donuts run $1.75 each. Of that $1.75, half will go to an employee battling cancer.
Donuts are always good, at times even great. These pink donuts are amazing. Add to the equation you're helping out another human being facing an unimaginable challenge, and the donuts are even better.
National Breast Cancer Awareness Month
The 31 days of October are a great opportunity to get involved in the battle According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation:
For the 31 days of Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM), pink ribbons appear as the impact of breast cancer is brought to the forefront of national conversation.
But we know that to help those facing breast cancer, awareness alone isn’t enough. This October, get involved. Get screened. Make a donation. Take action. Make this BCAM about more than awareness.
