A group was enjoying a float down the Colorado River when their boat capsized near the 5th Street bridge.

Around 5:30 pm Monday (May 26,) the Mesa County Sheriff's Office and the Grand Junction Fire Department responded to the scene on the Colorado River near the 5th Street bridge where a raft hit a pylon and capsized.

Upon arrival, authorities found two females on a nearby island who were rescued, the third member of the group was not found.

None of the boaters were wearing life preservers, and there was alcohol found near the scene, but it's not known if alcohol was a factor in the accident.

The search for the missing man was called off after several hours on Monday, and will continue Tuesday morning.

We'll have more details as information becomes available.
