Welcome a New Restaurant to Orchard Mesa in Grand Junction Colorado

The new Subway restaurant in Orchard Mesa is officially open. This is huge, but then again, it isn't. A Subway has operated in Orchard Mesa for some time, directly across the street from this new location. I can remember visiting that location back in the mid-1990s.

Whereas the previous location operated in a plaza on the north side of Highway 50 at 2692 US-50, Unit A. The new location can be found at 2689 US-50.

How Far Is It From The Old Location To The New Location?

If you're concerned this move is going to make it more difficult to visit your favorite sandwich shop, don't be. Because I'm a geek, I thought it would be fun to calculate the distance from the previous location to the new location.

After some intense research, it was learned Orchard Mesa's Subway has migrated a grand total of 278.78 feet. For those who approach from the west, this means it will cost you an extra $1.53 in gas to reach the new location.

The new location can be found in a brand new, stand-alone building. I stopped by last night to take a look. You'll find this new restaurant to be well laid out, smartly designed, and unbelievably green. The decorator behind this new store must really love the color green. Granted, this shade of green is immediately associated with the Subway brand, but wow. It looks great, but it's really... green.

It looks as if Orchard Mesa really has it going on. Old eyesores are being torn down. Shiny new buildings are going up. I've been a resident of Orchard Mesa since 1983, and quite frankly, have been whining about the condition of the area for some time.

These improvements are giving me a serious case of "keeping up with the Joneses." If these area businesses are going to spruce themselves up, then I'm going to have to bite the bullet and fix up my property, too.
