Grand Junction Area Restaurants Recognized For Food Safety
20 Grand Junction area business honored. Let's eat!
The Mesa County Health Department has revealed their list of area restaurants that have gone above and beyond to make sure that their food is safe. KKCO News has this story.
Now, this does not mean that area restaurants NOT on this list are unsafe mind you. The list simply distinguishes those places that meet the Health Department's criteria and go above and beyond the call to make sure their food is safe.
All the businesses recognized have met the health department’s three criteria:
- Ninety percent of the facility's food handlers to have a Mesa County Food Handler Card or a ServSafe certificate.
- A food safety certified manager is on premise during all hours of operation.
- The facility has proactive procedures in place, such as documentation of temperature logs, self-inspection forms and pest control contracts.
