2019 marks the fair's 150th anniversary.

It's the perfect way to wrap up your summer, a road trip to the Colorado State Fair. If you've not been in a while, this is the year to go! This year is the fair's 150th anniversary, and since 1869 the annual event has taken place in Pueblo. The fair celebrating Colorado starts this Friday, August 23rd continuing through September 2, at the Colorado State Fairgrounds.

The fair's awesome every year but this year it's bigger and better than ever! It's the fair's sesquicentennial and the grandstand talent has something for everyone. “We have an entertainment lineup that I feel is as diverse as it has ever been...We have a little bit of something for everybody this year ... whether it’s the main stage stuff down to the variety of attractions at the fair,” so says the fair's general manager, Scott Stoller.

Along with the demolition derby, monster trucks, and the rodeo, there are Classic Rock acts The Beach Boys and 38 Special. Rock fans won't want to miss Halestorm on Friday evening August 30th. Of course, there is plenty of country acts including Aaron Watson, Granger Smith, Brett Young and more. Get your tickets and more info on the grandstand concerts by clicking HERE.

There's more! You'll want to check out the tattoo work being featured at the art exhibition. Plus, check out the major league competitive eaters from Coney Island as they try and choke down green chile burgers at the Slopper Contest! It's the best way to wrap up summer, the Colorado State Fair!
