The first confirmed flu case in Mesa County for 2016 has been reported.

A 75 year old resident has been hospitalized with the what the Mesa County Health Department is calling the flu.

According to this report from KKCO News, flu activity has been lower than previous years across Colorado. But, the flu season itself, usually peaks between December and March, so it's possible to still come down with it.

The Mesa County Health Department lists cough, sore throat, fever, body aches, runny or stuffy nose, chills, headaches and fatigue among flu symptoms. The department does offer flu vaccinations at the Public Health Clinic located at 510 29 1/2 Road in Grand Junction. Call for an appointment at (970) 248-6900.
