Working close to Sherwood Park here in Grand Junction has always been a privilege. It's close enough to go take a quick walk when you need some fresh air throughout the workday. The park normally has visitors walking or enjoying some of the playground equipment, but now the city of Grand Junction has made some improvements to make the park better. Soon there will be a ribbon-cutting celebration for all the changes at Sherwood Park in Grand Junction.

The event will be held on Thursday, June 3rd at 4:00 p.m. and is open to anyone in the community who would like to see the added equipment. After the ceremony, people will have the chance to try out the new fitness equipment there will also be light snacks and refreshments for those in attendance.

What Are All the Improvements That Have Been Made to Sherwood Park in Grand Junction?

Beyond just the fitness equipment there has also been new playground equipment installed as well as 50 new trees that were added to the park. The fitness equipment was paid for by a $15,000 grant thanks to AARP. This gives people multiple options when looking to get in a workout at the park beyond just walking.
